DIY: How to make cool Bow Tie/ Bow

This will show you how to make a cool bow or bow tie like the one to the left! Some sewing required.

1. Cut a rectangle of your desired cloth, preferably 3x6 inches  (although it depends how big you want your bow tie).

2. With the longer side of the rectangle parallel to you, fold both of the long sides in to the middle. (If needed, sew the sides down, it might make the following easier).

3. Now fold the shorter sides of the rectangle into the middle. Make sure your previous fold stays. You may want to sew this fold as well.

4. Pinch in the center of your soon-to-be bow tie and make sure to sew the pinch together. Finally, take a thin strip of different cloth (it can have the same pattern if desired), wrap it around the center of your bow tie and then sew on. Your Bow Tie is Complete!

DIY: Make a blanket-No sew needed

Get two pieces of fleece from your local fabric store.Any color and size will do. It depends on the size of the person. I recommend 3 square feet or 6 square feet. The choice is up to you to decide.Make sure each piece of fleece is the same size.Step 1:Put one fleece on top of the other.Step 2:Then cut lines 1 inch up.Step 3: Leave 1 inch across.Repeat steps 2 and 3. When finished cutting the perimeter of the fleeces, tie the inch rectangles together as shown below. This project can make a great gift for a baby shower, birthday, and house warming! This craft is also a great project to share with kids. For more information (if needed) on this project go to: http://familycrafts.about.com/od/nosewfleeceprojects/ss/fleecetieblank.htm

DIY: Do your nails, quick and easy

Put a clear base coat on your nails to protect your outer layer. Let it dry and then put a light blue color over. Use a pocka dotting tool to create the different color dots. Create the tuxedo with a thin black brush. You can cover some nails in sparkles if wanted. Cover in a clear top coat and let it dry.

DIY: Scarf Embellishing

Take an old scarf, such as the one to the right and use a hot glue gun to embellish it. You can use small sea shells, sequins, rhinestones, and any other small items you find to create a wonderful original scarf. No sewing needed. If needed ask someone for help with the glue gun and remember safety first.
